Vintage Melissa Powder Compact, Black Top with Iridescent Embellishment c. 1960s, with pouch

Circa 1960s vintage powder compact, with fabric pouch.

Circular shape. Black enamel top with embellishment mounted in the centre (circular centre of subtle pale iridescent colours, similar to Mother of Pearl, with fancy silver colour metal edging).
Gold colour metal sides and bottom.
Bottom has a finely textured chequer pattern.
Hinge and catch closure.
Inside has a mirror in the lid, 'Melissa Made in England' stamped in the metal under the mirror, a Melissa powder puff, removeable powder sifter, and a paper surface on the bottom of the powder well with printed instructions on it.
Plain black fabric pouch.

Condition: In used condition. Hinge and catch in working order. Small fine scuff marks on the black top, and tiny spots of wear to the edge of the black. Small ding in the metal to the right of the catch. Bottom of compact has slight wear. The mirror has fine hazy lines under the surface. The interior metal edges have some small spots of tarnish. Paper lining is very good. Powder puff is used, with discolouration marks on the pad (top of puff is very good). Sifter very good. Fabric pouch excellent.

Maximum external diameter, including hinge and catch approx 7.7cm, just over 3 inches.
Internal diameter of powder well approx 6.7cm, 2 5/8 inches.
