Shop Policies & Privacy Policy

Van Hart Gallery is an online shop based in the United Kingdom. We sell artwork - contemporary, vintage and antique - such as original drawings and paintings, prints, engravings, lithographs and textile art. 

 

PAYMENT: 

We accept online payment by credit or debit cards via Paypal through our check-out page. We use Paypal as our payment processor. Financial transactions are processed by Paypal, therefore your financial information/bank/card details will not be shared with us. 

Our shop currency is GB Pounds. 
Sale transactions are in GB Pounds. 
International buyers (non-U.K.) are responsible for any additional fees/currency conversion fees imposed by their bank/credit/debit card company. 
International buyers (non-U.K.) are responsible for any customs, duties, taxes, import taxes etc imposed by, or in, the buyer's home country.

POSTAGE/DELIVERY:

Seller and item location/dispatches from: United Kingdom. 

Dispatch Time: 
Dispatch time is the time it takes us to prepare your order for dispatch. 
We aim to dispatch orders within 1 to 3 working days of receiving your payment. 'Working days' excludes Saturday/Sunday, Christmas, Easter and public holidays. We sometimes dispatch orders on a Saturday.

Delivery Method: 
United Kingdom: Royal Mail 2nd Class Signed-For. Signature required on delivery. If you are not in to sign for your parcel Royal Mail will leave a card at your address with instructions of how you can collect your parcel from Royal Mail or how to arrange re-delivery of your parcel to your address. These arrangements can only be made by the recipient/addressee of the parcel. 
We occasionally use Royal Mail Parcelforce which is also a signature on delivery service. 
International (non-U.K.): International postage not available at the present time.  

Estimated Delivery Time: 
Delivery time is the time it takes for the postal service to deliver your parcel, which is beyond the control of the seller. 
United Kingdom: Royal Mail aim to deliver within 3 working days but they occasionally take longer. If you are not in when delivery is attempted then naturally it may take longer for you to receive your parcel. 

Please allow extra time for public holidays, Christmas-New Year holidays, extreme weather conditions, natural disasters, disease pandemics, industrial action by the postal services and or transport networks and any other circumstance that may delay delivery. 
'Working days' defined as Mon-Fri excluding Christmas, Easter,  public holidays and strike days. 

Seller is not responsible for delays due to customs processing and procedures.

 

 

RETURNS/CANCELLATIONS/EXCHANGES/REFUNDS: 

Returns: 
If, for any reason, you wish to return your order:
Please contact us within 14 days of delivery of your order. Buyer is responsible for the return postage cost, which is non-refundable, and buyer is responsible for returning the order. Item(s) must be returned within 30 days of the date the order was delivered to the buyer. 
Item(s) to be returned in the same condition as when received by the buyer, ie: unused and with the original packaging, where applicable. The buyer has a duty of care whilst the item(s) is in their possession. 

Cancellations: 
If you wish to cancel your order BEFORE we have dispatched it, then please contact us to request a cancellation within 3 hours of your purchase. If you wish to cancel your order AFTER we have already dispatched it then please refer to the 'Returns' information above. 

Exchanges: We do not do exchanges of goods. 

Refunds: Refunds are issued via the original payment method and only to the person who placed the order and paid for it. 

 

 

ADDITIONAL POLICIES/OTHER: 

Our vintage and antique items are pre-owned and therefore have varying amounts of wear, usage and signs of age. Please see individual listings for details, condition and pictures. Thank you.  

We do not offer a gift wrapping service. 
We do not mark items as 'Gift' on customs declaration documents. 
 
The seller reserves the right to not complete any transaction which is deemed as unsuitable to normal business. Examples of such circumstances include, but are not limited to:
-Buyer's name and/or address appears to be false, illegible, incomplete or missing.
-Suspicious, unrealistic or abusive activity. 
-Unresponsive buyers, when contacted with a query about an order/transaction.
-Areas that are experiencing postal problems/suspension of postal services.

For postal purposes, the buyer's name and address must be provided in a format acceptable for the postal services. 

Seller is not responsible for order item(s) stolen/missing from a buyer's property after delivery. 

If the buyer has their order delivered to a shipping forwarding company, the seller is not responsible for what happens to the parcel after delivery to that company.

Seller-Privacy Policy: 

I am the data controller of your personal information as it relates to this online shop, Van Hart Gallery.
When you place an order, I will receive your name, delivery address and email address. I will only use these details to process and deliver your order, or deal with any queries you have relating to that order. 
The only circumstances in which I will share your data are in processing your order or complying with the law. I will never use or pass on your information to third parties for marketing purposes, or any other purpose, other than the circumstances listed below, or add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.
The circumstances in which I may share your data are:
With website/shop host Big Cartel and payment processor Paypal to comply with my obligations.
With delivery companies to fulfil your order or to report delivery problems.
To comply with legal or tax obligations.
I will retain your details for as long as necessary in order to process the transaction and I will securely store any data collected during that period. I retain personal data related to orders or customer queries for 7 years. After this time I will delete your data from my records.
You have the right to know what personal data I hold about you, and to ask for that data to be changed or deleted. You also have the right to complain to the ICO if you believe there is a problem with the way I handle your data. 
Big Cartel (the website shop host) retains customer and order information; if you have any concerns about your personal data please contact Big Cartel regarding their own Privacy Policy. 
Paypal retains customer, order and payment information; if you have any concerns about your personal data please contact Paypal.
