1930s Art Deco Trinket Jar or Powder Bowl with Lid, Pale Blue Glass, Metal Sunray Top, small defect
Circa 1930s vintage glass trinket storage jar (or powder bowl) with lid. Slight lid defect, see condition notes.
Pale blue thin glass jar section, squat circular shape with very subtle angled surfaces. Rounded sides tapering inwards to the base. Small upright top edge.
The circular lid is made of silvertone metal with incised sunray pattern with fine wavy lines. Mirror surface to underside of lid.
The lid sits on the top (not hinged, not screwed, not a tight fit) and the lid wobbles back and forth when put on the jar!
Maker not stated on item. The style is reminiscent of Dubarry of London.
Maximum height, including lid, about 6cm, 2 1/2 inches.
External diameter of jar, at widest, about 4 1/8 inches, 10cm.
Diameter of top opening about 7.6cm, 3 inches.
Condition: Glass very good to excellent with minimal wear. The lid wobbles back and forth when put on the jar! The lid top and sides have some small scuffs and marks but nothing unusual. The underside mirror has a few small dark tarnish spots but is a nice quality mirror with a good reflection.
