Print from the 19th century. Frame circa 1970s
A rural outdoor portrait of a man wearing working clothes and smoking a pipe. In the background are two hunters walking with dogs, an Inn, and hills to the distance and sky above. Narrow white border has printed names 'Geo. Walker Del., Published by Richard Jackson, Febr 1, 1885, Engraved by E. Kaufmann, Lahr, Baden.' Separate original printed title label under the print states 'Moor Guide'.
Label on back of frame states 'Moor Guide and Hunters Outside The Old Spital Inn, Stainmoor (Stainmore) The Pennines in North Yorkshire/Cumbria by George Walker, 1781-1856, Aquatint Engraving Print, Published 1885', and also an old gallery label on the back.
Frame Details:
Print and title mounted on top of darkish green board. Simple narrow wooden frame edges in dark brown. Glass to front. Hardboard back on frame with tabbed and taped edges. Metal eyes and rings, with cord for hanging. Some of the rear fittings are newer.

External size, including frame, approx 14 1/2 x 11 6/10 inches, 36.8cm x 29.4cm.
Size of print only, including the tiny white border, approx 12 1/10 x 8 2/10 inches, 30.7cm x 20.8cm.
Orientation: Horizontal.
Condition Notes:
The print has a couple of blemish marks in the sky, and a few other very small marks, otherwise the rest of the print is very good to excellent on the whole, for its age. Small blemish on the front title label. Frame excellent with minor wear.
