Two small antique tonal black and white engraving prints, mounted in one frame. Ready to hang.
Prints from the 1800s. Frame circa 1930s-50s era.

Two scenes in Kent, England. One is titled 'Ramsgate Harbour' and depicts the sea, harbour, boats, beach with people and horses/carts, clifftops with people, and buildings at the side background. The other is titled 'Dover Castle, Kent' with artist/engraver's names H. Gastineau and W. Woolnoth, and depicts a harbour shoreline with boats and people, town buildings, and castle on a hill in the distance. Wonderful pictures full of detail. Small border to each print with titles along the bottom borders. Label on back of frame states 'Published by J & F Tallis. London c. 1840-1850'.
Art Style: Fine, traditional, architectural, historical, coastal.

Frame Details:
Prints mounted on blue board. Moulded wooden frame edges finished in black with old gold colour beading to inner/outer edges. Glass to front. Board back on frame with newly tabbed and taped edges. Metal tab for hanging.

Size:
External size, including frame, approx 10 7/8 x 10 1/4 inches, 27.6cm x 26cm.
Size of prints only, including borders/titles: Ramsgate approx 5 1/2 x 3 6/10 inches, 14cm x 9.2cm each. Dover approx 5 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches, 13.4cm x 10.8cm.
Orientation: Horizontal prints in an upright frame.

Condition Notes: The Ramsgate print has some blemish spots mostly to one upper corner. The Dover print has a few blemish spots in general, and a fine line mark in the sky (line seems to be printed). The rest of both prints are very good to excellent though. Black and gold frame edges have general scuffs, spots and abrasion marks but nothing unusual for a very old frame. Rest of frame is very good to excellent.
