Antique Watercolour Painting, Village in Landscape Signed 'A.S. 1921', Framed Size 14 1/4 x 11 ins

Subject / Artist:
Countryside landscape with road, houses and a church spire in the distance. Trees and greenery, horizon and sky. Rustic and folksy impressionist style. Signed 'A. S. 1921'.

Frame Details:
Artwork mounted on top of beige card or paper. Wooden frame, dark brown with simple moulding lines. Glass to front. Board back on frame with tabbed and taped edges. Metal eyes with cord for hanging (these are newer than the rest of the frame).

Size:
External dimensions, including frame, approx 14 1/4 x 11 inches, 36.1cm x 28cm. Size of painting only, 10 x 6 8/10 inches, 25.4cm x 17.3cm. Horizontal.

Condition:
Painting very good on the whole, with some small spots and mottled marks. Small marks to the beige border. The glass has some tiny dots inside the glass which is typical of old glass, and a few minute scuff marks on the surface. Frame edges have slight signs of age and wear, and the frame edges curve backwards slightly towards the top right corner, see picture. Back of frame excellent.
