Small colour lithographic print, mounted and framed. Ready to hang.
Labelled on the back of the frame 'From a Watercolour by Walter Tyndale, Print Published 1936. The Gateway at Cerne Abbas (Abbot's Cernal)'. Tyndale was a British artist, 1855-1943. This artwork first appeared in 1906 in his series of paintings of Thomas Hardy's Wessex locations. Printed signature on the picture. Beautiful artwork of the Abbey gateway with ornate windows above, and turrets. Trees and grass, with woman feeding birds and chickens.
Frame Details:
Double board overlay mounts, muted green main mount and muted light green inner mount. Moulded wooden frame, brown with gold inner edges. Glass to front. Board back on frame with tabbed and taped edges. Metal fixing for hanging. Some of the fittings are newer.
Size:
External dimensions including frame, approx 10 7/10 x 8 7/10 inches, 27.2cm x 22.2cm. Size of visible print only (the inner mount aperture) approx 5 1/2 x 3 3/4 inches, 14cm x 9.6cm. Upright.
Condition:
Print excellent. Slight wear to frame edges/sides. Rest of frame excellent.
