Vintage Watercolour Painting, Malta Mdina Landscape, Signed, Frame Size 11 7/10 x 7 9/10 ins

Circa mid 20th century original small watercolour painting, on light beige coloured slightly textured cartridge paper. Mounted and framed. Frame circa 1970s-1980s. Ready to hang.

Landscape scenery with fields, sky, and ancient buildings behind a fortress or high city walls. Sketchy contemporary impressionist style. Some pencil outlines visible. Gentle and light muted colours. Signed but signature illegible (artist unknown) with the word 'MALTA' written under the signature. Label on back of frame states 'Mdina - The Old City of Malta'.

Frame Details:
Slate brown board overlay mount. Narrow wooden frame edges, finished in old gold colour with fine beading to inner/outer edges. Glass to front. Hardboard back on frame with tabbed and taped edges. Metal eyes, with cord for hanging. Some of the rear fittings are newer.

External size, including frame, approx 11 7/10 x 7 9/10 inches, 29.7cm x 20cm.
Size of visible artwork only (the mount aperture) approx 8 1/4 x 4 1/2 inches, 21cm x 11.6cm. Horizontal.

Condition Notes:
Painting very good. Scuffs and marks to outer frame sides, and some surface abrasions to the external corners of the frame. Rest of frame very good to excellent.
