Very old label on back of frame states 'The Parish Beadle, Painted by Sir David Wilkie, R. A., Engraved by J. C. Armytage, The original in the collection of N. W. Ridley Colborne Esq, M. P.'. Artwork depicting a Parish Beadle arresting a group of entertainers (adults, children and animals), and another person unlocking a chained doorway, possibly a workhouse, gaol or church building?
Frame Details:
Black board overlay mount. Narrow wooden frame edges, finished in black and old gold, with fine beading. Glass to front. Wood panel back on frame with tabbed and taped edges. Metal tab for hanging. Some of the rear fittings, and the board mount, are newer.

External size, including frame, approx 10 4/10 x 7 6/10 inches, 26.5cm x 19.3cm.
Size of visible print only (the mount aperture) approx 8 3/4 x 5 6/10 inches, 22.2cm x 14.2cm. Horizontal.
Condition Notes:
The tonal contrast of the print is flatter than average, otherwise the print is excellent. The frame's gold outer sides are very worn and rubbed in the colour finish. Rear label vert aged and discoloured. Rest of frame very good.
