Item Type: Hand-coloured antique print from an a copper plate engraving, mounted and framed (vintage), and ready to hang.
Subject / Artist: 'The Bridge at Shrewsbury' as titled on the picture. Engraver R. Godfrey from an artwork by P. Sandby. An outdoor scene of the ancient bridge with a tower on it, boats on the river, a few people, buildings to background, and sky above. Fascinating picture. Integral border around the artwork with title and names printed on the bottom border, along with publishing date of Oct 1, 1776, by F. Blyth, No 87, Cornhill.
Label on rear of frame states 'Copper plate engraving, 1776, hand-coloured. The Bridge at Shrewsbury by Paul Sandby (1731-1809), Engraver Richard Godfrey (b. 1728)'.
Frame Details:
Finely speckled off-white board overlay mount with hand-drawn gold line around the aperture. Narrow moulded wooden frame edges, warm dappled brown with gold colour inner edge. Glass to front. Hardboard back on frame with tabbed and taped edges. Metal rings with cord for hanging.

External size, including frame, approx 13 3/4 x 12 inches, 34.8cm x 30.6cm. Horizontal.
Size of visible print only including borders and names (the mount aperture size) approx 8 8/10 x 7 2/10 inches, 22.3cm x 18.2cm. Horizontal.
Condition: Print very good with slight discolouration and small marks. A few small fine scuff lines on the glass. The wooden frame edges have a few small nicks and scuffs, and a small dent on the right edge. The rear hardboard has some blemish marks. See pictures.
