Vintage Oil Painting, Riverside Mill House with Waterwheel & People by D Thompson, Framed

Original colour oil painting, on canvas texture board, framed. Ready to hang.

Riverside buildings with waterwheel. Trees to sides and background. People beside the river, including a washer-woman, angler, girl feeding birds, and man relaxing. Naive style. The face on the reclining man is very basic, almost mask-like! Nice colours. Some gentle stipple brush work and smoother/finer brush strokes too.
Artist: Signed D. Thompson. Back of frame also has a hand-written inscription 'Dorothy Thompson, Rustic Scene, N. F. S.'.

Frame Details:
Moulded wooden frame, mahogany colour with gold inner edge. No glass. Tabbed and taped back edges of frame. Metal eyes with string for hanging.

Size:
External dimensions, including frame, approx 17 1/2 x 13 1/2 inches, 44.5cm x 34.3cm. Horizontal.

Condition Notes:
Painting very good to excellent. See above regarding the style. Frame edges have various small scuffs, indents and nicks. Slight marks on rear board.
