Signed Pat Langton. (Patricia Langton, English artist 1931-2001.) Three young girls in Victorian-Edwardian style dresses, hats and bows, sitting in the garden of a thatched cottage, one holding a book. Grass, flowers and trees around. Cottage to background. Nice colours. Brushstrokes range from smooth to stippled and some thicker/coarser strokes.
Art Style: Impressionist, idyllic, romantic, rustic, traditional, old fashioned, nostalgic.

Frame Details:
Moulded wooden frame, old gold colour with fine line markings, curved sides, textured scroll/leaf shapes to corners and mid-sides, and textured pattern to inner edges. Beige linen coated inset edging with gold plastic bevelled inner edges around the painting. No glass. Tabbed and taped rear frame/panel edges. Metal eyes and rings, with cord for hanging. Old gallery stamp on the back.

External size, including frame, approx 14 1/4 x 12 1/4 x 1 inch, 36.2cm x 31.2cm x 2.5cm (or 1 4/10 inches, 3.6cm, including rear panel).
Size of visible painting only (the front of frame aperture), approx 9 4/10 x 7 4/10 inches, 23.8cm x 18.8cm. Horizontal.

Condition Notes:
Painting excellent. Gold frame edges/sides have some scuffs, marks and corner wear but nothing unusual. Small marks on linen inset edging.
