Coastal scenery with beach, sea, sailing boats, seagulls, houses, and sky. Hand-painted title to corner 'Babbacombe Beach, Torquay' and signed W. Linden in the other corner.
Art Style: Mid-century impressionist, quaint, traditional.
Frame Details: Moulded wide-edged wooden frame, brown to dark brown with gold colour inner edges, with natural grain, markings and dimples. Glass to front. Hardboard back on frame with tabbed and taped edges. Metal eyes, with cord for hanging. Some of the rear fittings are newer.
External size, including frame, approx 14 4/10 x 10 9/10 inches, 36.5cm x 27.7cm.
Size of visible painting (the front of frame aperture size) approx 9 6/10 x 6 1/10 inches, 24.4cm x 15.5cm.
Orientation: Horizontal.
Condition: Painting excellent overall, with a few tiny marks. Slight wear to wooden frame edges. Please note the dimples and indent markings are natural and the intended design. Slight wear marks to rear frame edges. Rest of frame very good to excellent.
