Antique hand-coloured print from an engraving. Mounted and framed (vintage). Ready to hang.

A young lady sleeping, resting on the arm of a chair, side view of her, just over 1/2 length portrait. She is wearing an ornate floral dress, off the shoulder. Her hair is up and with a long ringlet down her neck, and she is wearing a long-drop earring. Her pet dog is sitting on her lap and looking straight at the viewer. Part view of window to side background. Exquisite fine quality with very subtle colouring. Really lovely! Label on back states 'The Fair Sleeper, engraved by G. A. Periam, from a painting by H. Wyatt dated 1851'.
Art Style: Victorian portraiture, fine, elegant.

Frame Details:
Warm beige board overlay mount with hand drawn gold line around the aperture. Moulded wooden frame, mottled old gold colour with textured leaves pattern to outer edges and beading to inner edges. Glass to front. Hardboard back on frame with tabbed and taped edges. Metal eyes and rings, with cord for hanging. Some of the rear fittings are newer.

External size, including frame, approx 13 7/10 x 12 inches, 34.7cm x 30.5cm.
Size of visible print only (the mount aperture), approx 9 1/4 x 7 6/10 inches, 23.5cm x 19.2cm. Upright.

Condition Notes:
Print excellent. A few tiny marks on the mount. Slight scuffs and corner wear to frame edges. A few marks on the rear of frame. Frame very good overall, nice and solid quality.
