Advertising the play "Mary Stuart", played by Miss Laura Cowie, at the Everyman Theatre, London. Picture depicting a head and shoulders portrait of the actress in character clothing. Printed border pattern around the portrait. Title and pattern to top edge, and caption to bottom edge.
Published October 11 1922 in 'The Sketch', as labelled on the back of the frame, along with a descriptive label.
Frame Details: Wooden frame with reeded front surfaces and beading to inner/outer edges, finished in an old gold colour with black speckles, and underlying red showing through the gold. Glass to front. Hardboard back on frame with newly tabbed and taped edges. Metal eyes with newer cord for hanging.
External size, including frame, approx 13 9/10 x 12 inches, 35.3cm x 30.4cm.
Orientation: Upright.
Condition: Advert has a few slight marks but is excellent for its age. The frame edges/sides have various scuffs, nicks, marks and pit marks, see pictures.
