A small coastal town by the sea. Harbour with lighthouse. Small boats in the harbour. Sea with small sailing boats, and sky. Painted in a soft and gentle style (almost looks like a pastel drawing in parts). On a slightly textured paper. Impressionist and a little naive and folksy in style and very charming! Muted colours of mostly blues, with a little green, white and grey, which gives a nice atmosphere.
Artist: Unknown. No signature, no name.

Frame Details:
Beige board overlay mount. Moulded wooden frame, warm dark brown with gold inner edge. Glass to front. Board back on frame with tabbed and taped edges. Metal eyes and string for hanging.

Size:
External dimensions, including frame, approx 13 1/2 x 11 1/2 inches, 34.3cm x 29cm. Size of visible painting only (the mount aperture) approx 10 x 6 8/10 inches, 25.4cm x 17.3cm. Horizontal.

Condition Notes:
Painting has very small dark dot marks mostly on the left-hand-side, a streak mark down the right hand edge, and slight waviness on the surface which is common with old watercolour paintings, but overall the painting is lovely and very good. The board mount has mottled marks and slight foxing. Frame edges have slight wear and a natural pit on the top edge. Slight marks on rear board. Rest of back, and glass, excellent.
