Print edition from circa 1920s-1930s, of an earlier artwork. Frame is circa 1980s.
Antique lithographic print (tonal brown colour), mounted and framed (vintage), ready to hang.

Labelled on back of frame 'Iduna and the Apples of Youth by J. Doyle Penrose'. Irish artist James Doyle Penrose, 1862-1932. Woodland scene with Iduna, goddess youth and fertility, and keeper of the magic apples of immortality, handing an apple to a knight. Other knights and animals around, and a knight on horseback in the background amongst the trees.
Art Style: Romantic, classical, mythological, fine, mysterious.

Frame Details:
Finely textured gold board overlay mount. Moulded wooden frame, warm darkish brown with printed colour floral pattern to front. Glass to front. Hardboard back on frame with tabbed and taped edges. Metal eyes, with cord for hanging.

External size, including frame, approx 36cm x 31cm, 14 1/8 x 12 2/10 inches.
Size of visible print only (the mount aperture) approx 27 x 20.3cm, 10 5/8 x 8 inches.
Horizontal.

Condition Notes:
Slight wear/marks to frame edges. Narrow delve-abrasion to top rear edge of frame. Print and rest of frame very good to excellent.
