'The Duel (Twelth Night) by William Powell Frith R. A. (1819-1909), Published by Virtue & Co, London. Engraver J. Brain', as labelled on back of frame. Artwork depiction of a scene from Shakespeare's play, set in a garden with four characters, two of whom are holding a sword each. Fountain and grand house to background. Exquisite, fine detail.
Viewing with a magnifier is very rewarding as the detail is amazing!
Art Style: Fine, literary history, story illustration, dramatic portraiture.
Frame Details:
Black board overlay mount. Moulded wooden frame with textured leaves and crosses pattern to front, rich brown with a hint of red. Glass to front. Board back on frame with tabbed and taped edges. Metal eyes, with cord for hanging. The rear fittings are newer.

Size of visible print only (the mount aperture) approx 7 4/10 x 5 7/10 inches, 18.8cm x 14.3cm.

Condition Notes:
Print excellent on the whole with a few small blemish marks in the sky. Minor wear to frame edges. Rest of frame excellent.
