Vintage Watercolour Painting Yorkshire 'Packhorse Bridge' Linton Wharfedale by Janet Calvert, Framed
Circa 1980s original watercolour painting, mounted and framed. Ready to hang.
'Packhorse Bridge, Linton, Wharfedale' (as per hand-written label on back of frame). A village landscape in the Yorkshire Dales depicting a small bridge, stream, grass and trees, and houses in the background. Sky above. Gentle muted colours of greens, browns and greys, and some very subtle pale blue. Impressionist, folksy and slightly naive in style. Painted on a slightly textured surface, probably paper or thin card.
Artist: Janet Calvert, signature on painting, and a printed name/address label on the back of frame.
Frame Details:
Double overlay mount: small white card inner edge, and the main top mount is grey board with hand-drawn lines around the aperture. Wooden frame, with white colour finish and silver line near inner edge, and recessed front moulding. Glass to front. Board back on frame with tabbed and taped edges and metal eyes with cord for hanging (these are newer).
Size:
External size, including frame, approx 15 1/4 x 12 3/4 inches, 38.8cm x 32.5cm.
Size of visible painting only (the inner mount aperture) approx 9 3/10 x 6 1/4 inches, 23.7cm x 15.8cm. Horizontal.
Condition:
Painting excellent. Slight wear and small marks to frame edges. Rest of frame excellent. Rear labels are aged.
